I will always be grateful for the brief but profound encounter I had with your family while Joseph was in the hospital. Even in such a painful moment, the love that surrounded him was unmistakable, and I felt humbled to witness the strength and tenderness you showed him and held each other. Though I could not be physically present, I joined the funeral online and was deeply moved by the beautiful farewell you gave your beloved son. It was a testimony to the love he inspired and the light he brought in his too-short years among us. I am so sad to hear of your passing, Joey! You were not only a great mentor but also a wonderful friend. I had the privilege of meeting you through your mates, and you were always generous with your time and knowledge, helping me improve my racing, teaching me techniques, and showing me the right lines. Having you around always boosted my confidence and motivation. From spending time together at the track, sitting with me on the grid, to celebrating after a 2nd place finish at the DeeVine Cup last year, every moment with you was special. I will especially cherish our chat on Friday, when you gave tips to help me secure P4, something I felt proud to achieve for you. We were absolutely heartbroken to hear of the Josephs passing on Monday morning. Alex and Jensen had been playing and laughing with Joseph on Friday afternoon at Griffith with an RC Car, Joseph riding his bike...all seemed well. We cannot imagine the loss you all must be feeling inside now and forever. Joseph was the the kind of young man who appealed to all....he made time for everyone (not just the quick drivers) and was universally loved. For such an accomplished and competitive driver in the Australian Karting scene he was so humble and good natured. I (Clint) still remember when Alex was first starting off in Karting only a few months in and contesting his first open meet - the Australasian Titles at Numurkah in Cadet 12. Alex had a shocker of a weekend but I won't forget watching Joseph take adversity head on after getting turned around at the start of the final and driving his way through the field from near last so magnificently to take the red plate over his good mates (and incredible drivers) Jensen and Max. What a drive - the commentator was beside himself too. He was absolutely incredible out there that day. We will likely be contesting the Australasian Titles next weekend with those same two mates (Jensen and Max) and I'm sure the boys will be driving for Joseph and there will be a lot of tears shed, hugs had and reminiscing about Joseph.
